Diff'rent Strokes on BET

I was looking through my program guide today and noticed that there is a Diff'rent Strokes marathon today on BET, and the show airs weekdays at 9am and 9:30am.

BET has been running Diff'rent Strokes since early last month. I watched the marathon on Sunday, and I haven't much on TV in several years. Watching the later episodes (in particular, the final season on ABC), you could see how disinterested Gary Coleman became.

I always liked it. Spinoff from Facts of Life, I believe. Always thought Jo was hotter than Blair.

Actually it was a spinoff from Diff'rent Strokes because of the episode where Mrs. Garrett visited Eastland where Kimberly went to school and got to meet everyone (Blair, Tootie, Natalie, Julie, Molly, etc.) and Mrs. Garrett got her own show in the summer of 1979.

I liked the classic where a very young Alysa Milano's character smoked pot.

Well, if you had to keep saying "Whatchoo talkin bout, Willis?" every week and try to make it funny, you'd get bored, too ;D

The show ran from 1978-85 on NBC, then for a year on ABC. Charlotte Rae left in season 2 to star in the spinoff, The Facts of Life, which itself ran for 9 seasons. George Clooney was a supporting cast member during the final season of DS. Molly Ringwald was a castmember in the early run of TFoL. First Lady Nancy Reagan appeared in a VERY SPECIAL anti-drug episode of DS.

Hello, Larry (starring McLean Stevenson and the gorgeous Kim Richards) was also considered a spinoff of DS.

Alyssa was never on Diff'rent Strokes.
I meant on Facts of Life- I vaguely remember her very young making a cameo appearance & she talked Molly Ringwald's character into smoking weed.
