Amen to that. I do especially enjoy the "9. Use the Digilink for good, donate it to the station who you'd like to see the most Dead Air on." Give the gift that keeps on giving!
But if BE and Digigram made me a 'bridge' that worked with Flex, that integrated Sound, Switcher, & Closures... And did it all via TCP/IP with a failover to bridge 2, I would buy two for each station and not think twice about it.
Doesn't a Broadcast Tools 8.2 do all the Digilink Bridge does and More? I have been pleased with the product and would love to see more people using it. This is used with Simian and others.
Use a bunch of the BTools with NexGen too, they work great. Have one that's tied into iMediaTouch, running it with serial strings to do fades etc. and is bulletproof.
Arrakis means "run" in many languages. Run far and fast from it. Whatever you may save from getting it you will pay out in repairs, down time and additional engineering fees.
If you have the budget, get ANYTHING else. Enco, NexGen, OMT, Simian, Wide Orbit or whatever the heck it is today... ANYTHING.
The "Bridge" combines a switcher with sound cards. No proof to the rumor that Arrakis over-bought a supply of Molex connectors 20 years ago and is trying to use them up.
