As a border-town Yank, I'm curious about the status of DAB in Canada. Google.ca leads me to websites that list lots of radio stations that are supposed to be broadcasting digitally, but I can't seem to find a digital receiver available anywhere.

So, is digital broadcasting really happening? Are digital receivers available? If so, where and how much?

There are no digital receivers available at any major retailer. DAB sort of died after having never taken off.

Pioneer sells an add-on DAB receiver for their head units (works with their IP-Bus connection), but it's a bit pricey.

At least you guys had sense enough to avoid screwing up your regular broadcast bands. Thanks for your input.
 
Couldn't Canadians purchase DAB radios in Europe and bring them home, or is there a difference? DAB is great in England, simply a terrific technology for radio listeners. Instantly improves choice without a monthly fee.

I'm not 100% sure if they'd work; there are a couple different DAB bands. If they do, there'd be very little to liten to. The stations that still have a DAB signal going really aren't maintaining them, and they're quite unreliable.
