Digital Endec Fun

Hello everyone,

I've been running into a few interesting things with our digital endec.

Through the web interface, there are times when the endec is online and displays that it is, but the CAP server says offline. A simple reboot refreshes the polling of the CAP server.

Is anyone else experiencing this? When the endec loses connection to the CAP server, it has to be rebooted to restore the connection?

Also, is there a reboot button hidden in the web interface. I know there is one in the software.

Thanks!
JR

Make sure you have the latest firmware. This may likely solve your problem, as there were some LAN-related bugs in the early firmware.

Try changing things over to DHCP, then back to static. In earlier verisons of the firmware I was able to get to find the FEMA mothership that way when it wouldn't before. Also check those nasty things like gateway and subnet info. Also, make sure you have the proper DNS server info in there. I personally put the ISP supplied server and 8.8.8.8 in as a secondary.

I too have added 8.8.8.8 as a secondary DNS. Had a site that kept going up and down...using Google DNS as the secondary seemed to take care of that problem.

I had a few that had CAP issues after I uploaded new firmware. I retreived the settings, double-checked the network settings, and restored the setting. That cleared everything up for me.
