Digital Juke Box

I have a client that is interested in the Digital Juke Box radio automation system. Does anyone have experience runing this system and the optional features? Also is the support decent from this company? Any major drawbacks to the software/operation?

I've heard Ron Paley and his crew has done quite a bit to improve the both the product and support from how it was under its previous ownership. The previous ownership had more angry customers than a large hornet's nest - I know as I was one who had migrated away from the product.

I personally haven't used it since the change in ownership but I know of one station that seems to be quite happy with it. I'm assuming they are getting good support as the last time I spoke to them they had nothing but praise for the product.

Radio colleague John Harper isn't able to sign into the board but he offers these thoughts:

Ron Paley, a good friend, has completely rebuilt the DJB platform. I've had it running here, complete with remote voice tracking, for close to a year. Wonderful.

WSLP has been running the new DJB. They have it on WPLB, their Plattsburgh station, too.

WARE was going to upgrade to BSI Simian, then cancelled the order to go with the new DJB II which is much more flexible and user friendly.

And Ron's tech support is superb. Ron needs to market a little more aggressively. I think DJB II could be a BSI-killer in a lot of stations
.

We (WEEM-FM Pendleton Heights high school) are looking to move on from the overpriced, and soon to be discontinued PSI101. For the cost, DJBII seems to be the top choice. I've been running the demos on my 6-year-old laptop and I love it! Once we get confirmation from the school, DJBII is #1 on my list to contact for a quote.

@butlerguy03: Just as an additional option you might want to also look at StationPlaylist Pro. I have it operating at a high school station and it works quite well and the students had taken to it with ease.

I know with school budgets being tight from first-hand experience. All our gear was donated and most of it is far from state of the art.

Got SP on our station. Works great. Very affordable.
