Ding Dong MOJO is gone

Just as I predicted some 18-24 months ago..."As soon as there is an FM Urban AC in this market, 94.9 will lose its mojo. Waited til now to post as I would have thought some of the elephants who never forget when someone is wrong on this board would give some credit when someone is right....but I digress.... ;D Perhaps this will stir it with a stick! :-*

Yeah... for $5 Million to just give up rights to Mojo and keep the Studio, Frequency and everything else... I think I would have given it up too. Keep patting yourself on the back darksoldier... hey how about predicting yesterday's lotto numbers too!

Hey disco,

Lest you forget its $5 million dollars for the revenue and account list, not just the rights to the calls....Mojo reportedly did about $7million a year (of which 100.3 has kept @75% to date for a cool estimate of $5.25 mill. Hmmm sounds like @$250k profit on that deal. It was saying "here's $5 million to avoid this butt whippin." No pat on the back Disco (If thats your real name) just fact on a subject I dont recall you being around for at its inception. If you want yesterdays lotto numbers,... look in the paper.

Cumulus tossed in the towel..not the same as an Urban A/C beating MOJO.

But it still goes down in the books as a L.

It will be interesting on how they do in the ratings next year at this time. There is where you will know if they did the right thing. See if they can have between a 4 or 5 share or better or will they fall like a rock and will be happy with a little 2.5 to 3 share. As they say in the business... "Stay Tuned!!!"

P.S. Yes my real name is Disco and last name is Jonn :-*

This is very true. Based upon other markets of similar ethnic composition, we will likely see a significant drop in WIZF's high end (25-54), picked up by 100.3 with some to WCIN. Overall, I would predict a high end 4.8-5.3 for the WIZ, a 4.5-4.9 for WMOJ, and WCIN settling in for a 1.2-1.7 when its all said and done. Plus, keep in mind we are talking urban radio here. How much share do you need with a target market that represents 11.3% of the GBA's population. At the end of the day its not going to be about share anyway....it will be about the demo.

Hi Soldier,
I sure hope you're right about WCIN getting 1.2-1.7. You guys deserve a break, but you're going to have to get the nighttime signal taken fixed. When I'm in Bellevue, Ky at night, I can't even tell there's anything on 1480. Coverage is poor/marginal during the critical hours, too. I hope this gets fixed somehow.

Do you think a real jazz format like you had at WNOP will ever return? I wanted to buy WCVG from Dick
Plessinger, but my wife wouldn't let me sell the DQ.

Real doubtful major....real doubtful.
