It's not like the audio channels are driving huge numbers of people to get satellite or cable TV. Nobody's paying for DirecTV, Dish or cable for the music. So why should they care about the playlist depth on those channels, or anything else about those channels except that they play music as seamlessly, dependably and inoffensively as possible? Oh, and add "cheaply" to that list.
I'm guessing that DirecTV got enough complaints about the gab on the Sirius XM channels that the decision was made to switch, and SonicTap was the service willing to do the job on the cheap.

Then why have the music channels if they are going to be subpar.....Other than smooth jazz, chill, neo-soul and classic hip hop I can listen to over the air radio for music to clean my house to.
