DirecTV's Biggest Push Yet For "NFL Sunday Ticket" Package

In a effort to offset high costs, DirecTV has launched an extensive advertising campaign offering its exclusive "NFL Sunday Ticket" package for an average price of $300:

Meanwhile, New York Post sports media columnist Phil Mushnick has been lobbying his readers to talk current DirecTV subscribers into a deal for the NFL package for which they wouldn't foot the full $300 bill; simply, he advised that they threaten to discontinue DirecTV service. And according to what he wrote in a recent column, this ploy appears to have worked for several of his readers. I'm sure Phil's not the only one sticking up for the true fans.

Some people can barely afford bread and milk, much less a $300 football package.

And then there are those of us who budget for the $300 football package.

Nothing wrong with that, I'd probably get it too if I had DirecTV. My only point was that DirecTV shouldn't be surprised if not as many subscribe this year.

I wish Dish Network offered it, but I'm going to subscribe to the RedZone channel for $7/month. It will have to do.

He's a putz!

I grinned from ear to ear when Jim Cornette ripped him one.

;D

I couldn't have said it any better.

Mushnick's one of the big reasons why I avoid the New York Post. Whenever I stumble upon one of his columns, I find that he never has anything nice to write about anything or anyone. He has got to be the worst sports media columnist in the country.
