Disappointed with the DIY Channel

Now it's become entirely home remodeling.
What happened to the specialized shows of the past? Like the woodworking shows with David Marks and the musical instrument making programs? Or that nice looking Amy and her weird furniture making.
Then there was the Automotive Q & A show with the guy and girl team of mechanics.
Looks like Barkitecture is the only different program in the sea of Desperate Landscapes and Sweat Equity.
Bah.

Sounds like you have similar frustration to some people I'm around who are fed up with HGTV. It's nothing but flipping houses, buying new houses, modifying houses...no GARDENING at all. Blah.

For that matter, what do "Trading Spouses" and "Wife Swap" have to do with country music videos or anything else you'd expect on CMT?

Yeah, I suppose they could be titles of songs ;) - but they really have nothing to do with the supposed format of this channel.

DIY, HGTV and tons of other cable channels are glaring examples of corporate "group think" where what "they" own matters more than the supposed product.

At least the one network that is sister to HGTC, Food Network still shows food shows. As for HGTC and DIY they prolly should just be one whole channel instead of two.
