Take yourself out of the role of listener for a moment and listen from the point of view as a station employee. This is nothing more than what would go on with any three guys that worked together. They've had the occasional heated moment on air for years.
At what other station would the third banana get to be the one who goes to Super Bowl Week? You can bet anywhere else there's a budget for it, the top-billed guy goes every year. He's got it made and he's well aware of it.

I have never been a fan of Darren McFarland, because I feel too many times, he is either unprepaired, doesn't know what he is talking about or is just a YESMAN for George Plaster and Willie Danuc. But I will admit, he did do a good job this week in Detroit for the Super Bowl. I'm afraid with him back in the studio next week, he will go back to being unprepaired and being George and Willie's YESMAN.

Part of the discord is that George has the need to have a stoog that can take the brunt of his humor. Willy was that person for a long time and there have been others. Darren is that person now and even if you know what the score is, it can get under your skin once in a while. I find it humerous that some of you see Darren as the one unprepaired when he is actually the one pushing for more legitamate topics and often the subject of the discord is his wanting to move away from the softball questions and topics. He is probably the most prepaired of the three. What he is, is not as smooth as George and isn't a wordsmith. He has improved a lot in that area, but still lacks the polish that George has. Willy has a little more polish to him as well and in heated discussions, that makes Darren appear to be less knowledgeable.

To expand upon your point, I think simple debate tactics where one must take the opposing viewpoint and argue it is apparent at 104.5 . An argument sounds much better than three men agreeing on the same topic. Extrapolation and hyperbole can go only so far. Darren or Willy may not buy into their broadcast opinions all the time, but it sounds better than,"Yes Director."

Did you say George and humor in the same sentence? I like the three guys but none of them have a personality. The best thing for them to do would be to make it a two man team. I don't care which two just make it two. Three hosts is just one too many when you factor in their "expert" guests. One day we will have a sports show that is worth a flip in the this town and also entertaining. I can't remember the last time I laughed because of something funny the three hosts said. I know it is a sports show but I expect entertainment.
