So what are the plans for network coverage of the launch tomorrow?

CBS will air a special report at appproximately 10:30am EDT/7:30am PDT and remain on-air through the launch until about 10:53am. It will be anchored by Bob Schieffer in New York; Mark Strassman and Ed Harwood will be at Cape Canaveral, Lee Cowan will be at the Johnson Space Center.

NBC will air a special report at 10:30am as well and remain so through 10:58am. Brian Williams will anchor from New York, joined by former Discovery commander Rick Hauck, former NASA administrator and NBC News analyst Sean O'Keefe, and aerospace expert Dr. James Oberg.

I don't have any info on what ABC plans to do.

Given NASA's recent track record all the networks
would be prudent to equip their on-scene people
with cast-iron umbrellas.

OR is THIS what the congressman meant when he suggested bombing Mecca?

I just saw an MSNBC promo for the launch a few minutes ago. They have just put the ultra hype on the event. They said something like "The world will stop and watch history in the making." Kinda sounds like Apollo 11 if it were happening today.

That spot ran during in the final segment of "Countdown" just before the first launch attempt, and in his own trademark way Olbermann gave it the treatment, complete with the trademark sarcastic headline on the bottom third.

The ad was a model in basic network hyperbole. It got what it deserved.

Keep your knees loose.
