Discrimination on the SImpsons writing staff

And yet they used a woman as the voice of Bart. I always thought that was interesting.

Writers never deal with the voice actors. Divorce can be nasty. Would you really want to be a woman working in a stressful situation with a man going through a divorce?

Not really. Women have done children's voices since the early days of film. June Foray, who just passed away in her late 90s, who was the voice of Rocky Squirrel and Natasha Fatale (among others) - did kid's voices as dub-overs on TV, in films, and in commercials - back in the 50s and 60s.
