Dish Nation The Best New Idea In Radio

Dish Nation airs after TMZ on Fox every night featuring The Rickey Smiley Show from Atlanta, The Scott Shannon show from New York and The Kidd Kraddock Show from Dallas - the best bits from their morning show teamed with TV, video, the works. I'm not sure who came up with this idea - but it's just what radio needs - Visual, and Ricky Smiley is hysterical! Not every radio station morning show is good enough for TV, but that's what we should be shooting for!

Dish Nation replaced the noontime broadcast of TMZ in my market and as a result I neither watch TMZ nor Dish Nation. This show is typical of the crap comedy I was referring to in another thread and I don't see these "personalities" as either funny or informative. Just one snarky remark after another followed by self-aggrandizing guffaws by the other participants. This show reminds me of the trashy morning zoo offerings that are thankfully dying out.

well I thought it was kind of neat

20th Television/FOX tells RBR-TVBR the new entertainment news hit from FOX Television Stations featuring radio personalities from across the country is scoring some great ratings so far. In just four weeks, they’ve seen viewership grow 18%. Last summer, they tested it on Fox stations and rolled it out nationally last month. It’s turning into a bit of a hit and it’s one of the youngest-skewing programs in syndication.

At least I attach my real name to my comments!

Names are not important but before this goes any further please let me state that I am criticizing the show and not you personally.

I am a moderate fan of TMZ because their usual tactic is mocking the Hollyweird "elite" (or, more often, 'D' listers who I have never heard of). I like the sadistic humor. Dish Nation OTOH is completely lacking in any sort of humor. Just snide, inside snark that means nothing to those of us not in the inside circle or above the age of 12. Fox does have a couple of worthwhile shows ("Bones" stands out as one IMHO) although it is not known as the pinnacle of excellence or anything close to it. Even its sports offerings get widely criticized for being too shallow and comical.

Dish Nation is nothing more than a morning zoo on TV and as worthless as most of them are. Here it airs at 12:30PM and 11PM so I suspect the only audience it gets are the ASU students at lunch or those cleaning out their bongs before bedtime. Either way it is not going to be watched, or impress, the vast majority of TV watchers.

Its hidden on some pay-TV "channel", right?

Haven't got time for that...

It's on Fox10 in Phoenix.

It recently replaced a delayed showing of TMZ (the 1/2 hour daily show).

i think this show is worthless why not just listen online to these morning shows if you want there take on current events. they replaced the Simpsons with this at night?? come on now!!
