DISH NETWORK CHANGES in 09

MarcB said:
I know they're not the most reliable source but Wikipedia says that DISH NETWORK will finally make Noggin and The N 2 seperate Channels in January 09. Noggin will stay where it is on 169. The N will replace Nick Gas on 177.

As an editor there, I would not believe it until I've seen the official source -- there are some die hard fanbois on Wikipedia who would change Noggin (and Nick-related) articles around to fit their vision.

I am sure if TheN/Noggin were to split some of the satellite boards would be all over it, but I have not seen any discussions on the topic so I would take it with a grain of salt... CC1

They already split on DirecTV and digital cable systems -- not just Dish Network.

Yet when they split for everyone else earlier this year, I don't think there was much (if any) discussion here.

if only they'd pick up The YES Network (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) and I'd really be happy.

That surprises me. You'd think it would be part of a premium pack, or free when you order so many games that aren't normally televised or something like that...

Comcast Digital Cable have Noggin and The N on seperate channels.

the problem with yes is nearly everything is blacked out.....more than just the games and classic yankees games, most of the yankees related programming is blacked out for the out of market crowd

The N on DISH Network

The N is now available as a stand-alone network on DISH Network channel 9576.

However, Noggin is still split with The N on channel 169.

I have to admit that I loved Nick GAS. Watching those old reruns of GUTS and Legends of the Hidden Temple was great. I feel like a huge nerd for admitting to that. :p

I think one of the reasons why they figured they could axe Nick GAS is because there were only so many Nickelodeon game shows, there were only so many episodes of each show they had, and from what I understand, all they ever really did was just kept repeating them all the time. I also think all of those shows are available on Turbo Nick. So, I think that's probably why they got rid of it.
