Dish Network drops Fox 19

If this happens on DirecTV, they market a tuner that you hook to a TV antenna & plug into your DVR. Suddenly you get the locals, including the subchannels and it all feeds into the DVR. If DirecTV drops a local channel, who cares? With this tuner, you don't miss a beat. Wonder if DISH has a similar item? The DirecTV model is AM21.
 
Dish does sell a similar device. Search "dish mt2" I have the am21 for Direct, and it works great. The installer that put in my system didn't know anything about them. They are both available on ebay.

In Fairfield, I can only get 2, 5, and 64 with an indoor antenna. I get everything in Cincinnati and Dayton with a cheap outdoor antenna. MCM Electronics in Springboro has some pretty good deals on antennas.
 
Put up a Channel Master 4228 or the 91XG that was mentioned and you'll get everything Cincy and Dayton has to offer OTA. Been doing it for years. Nothing like free Tv in real HD not this compressed stuff most are watching.

I have a couple of the 91X antennas...next to the 6' channel master parabolic dish, they're as good as I've found. Mine pulls Louisville reliably at 70 air miles aimed into a thick tree--and it's on the chimney on a 1 story house.

And that's the only way anyone in Warren or Butler counties can get everything from both cities, no? Dayton stations other than WHIO seem to drop off cable fast going south.
 
What I found most interesting was that the guy in Finneytown was able to get Columbus stations consistently. This could come in handy during football season.

Slightly off-topic question: I've always read that after WCPO changed over to RF22, WSTR's analog translator in Dayton (also on RF22) was knocked off the air. But according to their license renewal application, Sinclair claims it is still on the air.

I doubt Sinclair would knowingly lie on a license renewal, so I'm guessing it's still on. And if it's still on, I doubt anybody can or is watching it. Do you think they're running Channel 22 purposely to interfere with WCPO's signal? (Making WKEF the defacto ABC affiliate where WCPO is hard to get.)

And is this legal? I also noticed there is no application to convert to digital. So my guess is that they get to stay there for as long as they can and will have to convert to another channel when they have to go digital?
 
I seriously doubt anyone in Finneytown is getting Columbus consistently unless they've got a good tall tower and a lot of luck lol. I live in Goshen and with the CM4228 and a Channel Master preamp I get Dayton and Cincy with it pointed south. The 91XG is a good antenna too. I've got one mounted but not hooked up at this point, since the 4228 does so good. In the old days of analog Columbus was fairly easy in the early am for me during the summer tropo. Channel 4 was the only thing consistent thru the day. With the advent of digital it's rare I get Columbus at all..I'm about 15-20 miles too far south anymore. If I lived in Butler or Warren Co I'd put up either of the above mentioned antennas and get Dayton/Cincy easily. The old parabolic was a CM4251 I believe. I was told the dies were worn out or lost and no way to make them anymore. Still see a few old ones around now and then.
