Dish Network may be Fox-less after tomorrow

Their agreement to carry all Fox-owned channels ends tomorrow night at midnight. If they don't come to an agreement, all Fox-owned stations and networks will be off Dish as of then. This includes all FSN regional sports networks, FX, National Geographic Channel, and presumably (but not mentioned specifically) all Fox O&O broadcast stations.

My guess is that they will work out a deal, but these pi**ing contests are getting out of hand.

I thought this was the "Fox whine-page": http://www.foxnew... okay, I'll stop... ;D

Seriously, though, you didn't mention Fox News. I'd imagine that network would be affected on Dish Network, as well? If that's the case, Fox definitely has leverage in that FNC is the most popular cable news network, by far.

That's a different whine-page. ;D

I forgot them (can't imagine why ::) ). They would be affected as well. It covers all Fox-owned networks & stations except, as far as I can tell, Big Ten Network which is only 50% owned by them.

If Dish REALLY decides to play rough and pulls Fox News in retaliation, then I might consider signing up with them. Although I would hate to lose my TiVo.

Too bad. That's some transponder space which could actually be used for something worthwhile. But knowing Echostar, they'd probably just fill it with some pay per view, or sport, or other similarly useless/uninteresting (take your pick) dreck.

I wonder if that channel that was airing recycled Fox Reality Channel content long after that network was put out to pasture would have been affected by this, had that channel still continued as is... :D

The fact that Fox News is so popular is what would give Dish leverage. Fox is playing chicken and being extortive (as all of the networks have been recently with cable and satellite). Dish should just say "fine. We won't carry anything from Fox then, including Fox News."

Fox would cave faster than the audience would force Dish to.

I am sure FNC, FBN will be coming up sooner or later, but for now these channels are not apart of this dispute.... As for the ones that are in question looks like some of the channels that are apart of this dispute have been pulled from the DISH site so it does not look good... CC1
