Dish Network Messes Up Again

Everyone knows that cable and satellite providers were supposed to be providing HBO free of charge to all subscribers for the inauguration coverage. Well wouldn't you know that DISH NETWORK messed this one up too? Yeah, they're showing HBO free of charge - HBO's West Coast Feed on Channel 303. Seems like these guys can't get anything right.


While I'm on my DISH NETWORK rant I should also mention that my landlord subscribes to Encore and Starz! For whatever reason we're also getting The Movie Channel and The Movie Channel Xtra, but not the East Coast Feeds. Just the West Coast Feeds.

And in case you didn't know - I live in Connecticut, which is on The East Coast.

In other words, would you be seeing the inauguration special on a delay? Or would Dish, in their infinite wisdom, cut it off for non-subscribers as soon as it's over on the east coast?

You're not alone; Charter sort of messed up in Wisconsin too. They advertised all week they'd use their local advertising channel (Main Street) to show HBO during the three hours to provide coverage to everyone, including analog non-box viewers, but when I turned to it, it was nothing but a blank screen and Music Choice in the background. Not a problem for me since I subscribe to HBO, but I'm sure many others were unhappy.

This was an HBO free preview weekend and DIRECTV had channels 501 thru 514 FREE..

Time warner only had 701 (HBO-E) free this weekend.... (CHEAP BASTAGES)

Time warner is absolute crap!!

About The Movie Channel West - it's actually part of the AT250 package. East is part of the Showtime Package, but west is in AT250...

That's nothing compared to what DIRECTV customers have been going through with their onscreen program guides for the past month or so - first the 300s channels were broken, now they've been fixed but now it's the 200's that are broken. Yes they have been that way for about 2 years,its totally sickening!!

No guide,they dont seem to care which is sad

After reading that thread it seems like they are trying to force ppl to THIER NEW BOXs (Which are probably horrible compared to the older GOOD box's)
