Dish Network Problems?

I'm getting reports via a radio program that due to satellite problems, some channel assignments have been temporarily displaced; for example, from what I've heard, Fox News Channel has been replaced on Dish Network by some Indian news channel. Can anyone else confirm?

From 6AM EST to right now, it is still happening. Slowly the foreign channels are disappear and replace with the more boring American channels.

I am uploading video of the changes to Youtube right now.

Oh you don't know the half of it, everything is bonkers! I left my TV on 214 the Weather Channel because there's some thunderstorms expected overnight (didn't happen) and I started in my local channels, everything appeared fine, but instead of going up, I went down, and I'm enjoying the mayhem (for the moment), check this list:

I've never quite heard of anything like THIS. Sounds like a problem occurred either in Cheyenne (Dish's uplink center) or with the satellite at 110 or 119 (Dish's two primary orbital positions). There's a nice long 4-page thread on it at SatelliteGuys, too.

Like the above message, I wonder what happened, and where it happened at. I know we (the Earth) was hit by a CME several days ago, and I wonder if it somehow affected the satellites.

I'm a bit surprised while all the channels were mixed up, an erotic network didn't take over any of them... very classy, Dish Network ;D

This was posted at one of the satellite forums I post on... CC

Starting at approximately 3:30 a.m. MDT, satellite uplink provider, EchoStar, experienced an equipment failure associated with a primary video router located at its uplink facility in Wyoming, which caused a portion of DISH Network’s standard definition channels to default to a variety of international channels. EchoStar identified the failure and restored service by 7 a.m. MDT. Local TV channels and high definition channels were not affected.

Interestingly, my DVR caught approximately the first ten minutes of the glitch at about 4:50AM, while I was recording the film "Ishtar" on TCM. (And yes, I thought that film was good.)
