DISH NETWORK

You can find the answer on Wikipedia. I'll spare you a link and paraphrase why Dish hasn't made the switch:

Because of a a glitch during the switchover on 12/31/07 Nick GAS was put back on the air for Dish Network subscribers. The channel and its programs will eventually move to the TurboNick broadband channel.

It is incomprehensible why the switch still has not occurred, more than six months after it was supposed to take place.

Also. NOGGIN AND THE N are now 24 hour networks, yet on DISH they're still share time. Why?

contract dispute....I think Dish's position back in January was that it would disrupt the normal viewing patterns of subscribers

What? The pattern of not watching Nick GAS? :D

Regardless of one's feelings about The N, at least it carries original programming not seen elsewhere in the USA, and moving it would allow 24/7 Noggin service for preschoolers and families. DISH is absolutely holding out for a better deal. They have done it before with Viacom.

I love having Noggin 24-7 for my 3 year old. Even if she isn't up at night, I DVR some of the shows at night so that I alway have 2 of her favorites on the hard drive. Comcast doesn't switch out the on-demand stuff too often.

That's why DISH NETWORK sucks. They always screw over the customer. DirecTV made the switch. So did COX and COMCAST. These people at DISH also refuse to carry The YES Network, so I have no access to the Yankees games that aren't on FOX/CW and ESPN. (CW is who carries the local OTA games in CT). I swear I'm gonna see if my landlord will let me have COMCAST installed in my room.

(Besides with Comcast I wont have to worry about the landlords autistic son messing things up. Twice this week he messed up my Dish service. All the channels are blank, but all the menus and guides work. My landlords Dish service works fine. He called Dish about the prob on Monday. He's not gonna be happy about having to do it again).

Dish Net carries SNY so METS fans can see their games. They carry NESN so Redsox fans can see their games. But us Yankees fans get hosed. (As does anyone who likes The Nets basketball team).

I'm not the subscriber. The room I'm staying in was already set up as an "extra" room to recieve Dish Network Programming, that's why I think I need to get permission to switch to Comcast. It can't be all bad. My family and I lived in Bristol until 2003 and never really had any major problems when it was United, United Artists, TCI, and most recently AT&T. (They were just getting ready to switch to Comcast when we moved).

I know it is still there somewhere, but you may want to take a peak at satelliteguys.us to find out why things are they way they are at E*... I would get you a link to the thread, but screen readers can be a pain sometimes LOL. CC1
