DISH: WE WILL DROP AMC, IFC & WE AT MIDNIGHT SATURDAY

I don't know why anyone would bother being a Dish subscriber. If you're going to go satellite get Directv. Dish is constantly in the middle of these programming disputes, and they don't carry half of the RSNs.

I agree. What a joke! Why are they still in business? Or better yet, HOW do they stay in business?
They seem to be the "we can drop a channel at any time" company, which indeed sucks!

Half? Since when does YES, SNY, and CSN NW (which DirecTV doesn't carry either) constitute half?

It would be no big loss for me if IFC and WE were dropped, but I do watch AMC at least occasionally.

I was flipping around and noticed that Sundance (another channel I rarely watch) had a trailer saying that Dish was dropping them as well. What's happening there?

I'm satisfied with Charter Cable, but if I were to change back to a dish, it would definitely be DirecTV. Dish does pull these stunts way too much, even if it's a channel I don't care about, and it would be a major reason for me not to get them.

Good!. I wish more of these carriers would stand up to the programmers. I am sick & tired of paying extra fees for shows & channels I never watch.

AT&T UVERSE is also dropping these channels tomorrow as well.

In most of these past cases it has just been a last minute ploy..........and then a deal is
reached. If this turns out that way................then give a black eye to Dish.

If people want the price of cable/satellite to stop rising, they need to support Dish when they drop channels.

If people really cared about the costs, they'd drop both Cable and satellite TV, and just watch OTA.
And, the stations could respond by supplying more channels and better programming.

Dish is not alone; AT&T's UVerse plans to drop the aforementioned channels of AMC networks starting at 12 o'clock midnight tonight. Until all demands are met between AMC, AT&T, & Dish. After today, those channels will be gone, and I am so lucky that I've got Comcast/XFinity. and it really does beat out Dish, AT&T, & DirecTV.

I would agree except since the digital conversation many people find themselves outside the range of off air reception. If they want TV they are forced into cable/satellite.

Even worse. I am 15 miles from the full power stations and thanks to topography, I get nothing over the air. I too am forced to go cable.

Cable prices will still keep rising regardless of programming carriage fees. The cable companies want you to believe that prices are rising because of increased carriage costs, but don't forget, they are a business too and want to increase their profit on top of any increased programming fees. Give me 1 example of where a cable company "held the line" by dropping a network and then decreased their prices or even held them steady. It just doesn't happen. This is all a game, and the customers are always the ones that lose.
