Disney shuts down ESPN3 channel across all platforms
Disney and ESPN have officially discontinued ESPN3, which has ceased operations and is no longer available on any live TV streaming service, or in any linear pay-TV package.
Woah one had thought Disney would shut down their channels as part of the move to protect Hulu and Disney+ apps. It turns out ESPN3 shuts down and move its content around the Disney owned platforms.
The content from ESPN3 has “been dispersed” across the digital and linear ESPN collection of platforms. Viewers will now find its content “on ESPN, ESPN2, or ABC, or on digital services like ESPN+ or the ESPN Unlimited direct-to-consumer offering through the ESPN app.” Disney began informing distributors that it would be “shutting down ESPN3 and moving its content to other channels and services in November.”
