Disney's Zorro Returns on COZI-TV

Walt Disney's version of ''Zorro'' (starring Guy Williams) is back on TV after an absence of some 15 years (last seen on the Disney Channel) and even an absence from DVDs and streaming video. Zorro is cited as the inspiration for other superheroes such as Batman and The Lone Ranger. The run starts January 5th, with two episodes daily at 11 and 11:30 am. Set your DVR.

Bad news: The promos are colorized. Not a good sign. More bad news: It looks like it replaces "Maverick" on the schedule.

Would the kids of today watch a B&W Zorro today? I know some that will not watch anything in B&W. Their loss.

I have a copy of these episodes that are in color and they are very realistic given they were filmed in the late 50's. The Spanish-era costumes are true to color and make the show much more lively than it was originally on B&W TV.

I can just see little Freddie lying on his tummy in front of the TV set watching Zorro while eating a big bowl of Kellogg's Sugar Pops. Not when he was a kid. Now. :)

This show has been run to death in Argentina. Since it came back in early 2011 after being cancelled for a couple of months it has been running 2 episodes daily at 10:30am, I'm susprised its country of origin never got as many reruns of it! :p
