Could you please tell me the difference between the user name and display name?
I've realized that I accidently have two accounts. I was thinking I might change the display name of the first one to match the user name on the other., and then exclusively use the original account. But when i change it the system still displays my user name.
Or, is there another way to somehow combine the two accounts?
 
There is no way to combine the two accounts on this system.

Username is what you used to create the account and login with. Display name is what appears on each post.

However, in your activity log I see no name change submitted. Are you sure you actually submitted it after changing it?
 
i haven't, but what i was asking is how it would work. the user name for this account is the same as the display name. amos1001. and the user name and display name for the other account is amos.
