Disturbed - "Guarded"

Any comments on this track? I'm reeeeally looking forward to more Disturbed, and given the strong in-your-face sound of this debut single, it just makes me even MORE eager.

This has/is really a good year for new music - Disturbed, System Of A Down, Staind, Sevendust, Incubus, and a bunch more that I can't remember... very good stuff.
______________

The only thing that might make me feel "disturbed" is if Alternative stations still play that band! They're more compatible with Active Rock or even mainstream Rock stations, in my judgement, than Alternative ones.

I agree. Although there are distinct differences in programming between Active Rock and Alternative stations, it's not distinct enough. A less severe example of this is CHR/Rhythmic and CHR/Pop stations - they can blend quite a lot.

However, I have more of a problem when a musically-Active Rock station is, for all other purposes, classified as Alternative. Is there some advantage to doing this? WJRR is clearly programmed as more of an Active Rock station, yet they label themselves as Alternative. Why not switch it?
______________

Exactly. Just like System, Godsmack, Pantera, Metallica etc. They're rockers not alternatives

Ding ding ding! Come to Savannah, GA, home of the *lamest* Alternative station!

http://www.rock1061.com

Want to hear Zeppelin, Metallica, or Crossfade on an Alternative station? You've got it! Add in voice tracks galore, no visible station promotion in the city, and a playlist that is so tight it's unbelieveable, and you've got the worst radio station I've ever had the displeasure to listen to. They've even changed their positioner from "Savannah and Hilton Head's New Rock Station" to "The Only Station That Really Rocks!" which is what they used in 2001 when they were Active. Yet go check out their classification...they still report as an Alternative. What a crock.

Thankfully, this same company owns Wave 104.9, a AAA station that actually plays alot of what Rock should play. If Wave ever goes under (hopefully not), this city is screwed if any FM radio fans want to hear new songs from more melodic artists.
