Comparing the two today, Ive noticed that DIVA is actually playing alot of Classics, and Hot AC tracks during the day, While last night, they were playing alot of Dance. And since it is Saturday KTU on the other hand is playing alot more Current Dance than usual, I Guess Saturday is not a good day to compare these two stations.

KTU actually sounds half way decent today, if they sounded like this through the week during days, we would be doing alright. Not much Disco, or Motown played at all today, mostly current Dance, with some 90s, and Freestyle thrown in. And a few Current R&B-Rhythmic hits..... Yes,,, I know im talking to myself....
Edited by midwestclubber on 02/04/06 07:36 PM.

i whould say they are about the same, they both have different moods, in the day they are all classic dance and at the evening hours they have more current dance
______________

I heard Diva in New Orleans recently and can say it is not a dance station (however I think most of us know that). I can't recall a single dance track that wasn't "classic" when they didn't play a Hot AC track. I'm really not sure who they are trying to appeal to with that station. They even play original Backstreet Boys tunes...?
______________

Last night I heard Diva play Stevie Nicks, Edge of Seventeen. Now anyone that knows me knows that Stevie is my all time favorite singer but on a dance station to play the album version. Hmmm.. Now I have two techno spiced up mixes of Edge that would work but not the album version. I guess they were profiling the Rock Diva in US!

They are an AC station targeting Females 25-54. Stop getting your hopes up, they will not morph into playing Darude, Motorcycle...
You are giving them more credit than they deserve.

Wish theyd change the name

I find the New Orleans Diva to be more dance intensive, but they are not streaming yet.

And check out the concert they are promoting on the homepage, John Secada, Amber, Lucas Prata, Reina.

I wish theyd change the name to something like "Mega" or "the Beat" and be ambiguous to genders.

I think your right Ivan....... But really,,, they arent bad during nights....

Which brings us to another question....

....Why are the two "Diva"s reporting to Billboard Radio Monitor's Dance panel? I guarantee you they are playing and adding Dance product like Red Carpet's "Alright" and Kristine W's "I'll Be Your Light". Sure they may sound Adult Top 40 but they don't fit the criteria because of the musical makeup of the stations.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I don't want to argue with anyone, but from what I heard on the station, I wouldn't even call them a dance friendly station as I heard not a single current dance tune.
______________
