DIY Network to be renamed as Magnolia Network in 2022

This will start soon and Chip and Joanna Gaines will be the lead in this network.

It's an exciting time for Joanna Gaines! Hot on the heels of Christmas and New Year's, the Fixer Upper star is celebrating a huge milestone: the launch of her new Magnolia network. And we can see why she'd be emotional!

Joanna has many titles on her resume, from TV star to shop owner to best-selling author and editor-in-chief of a magazine, but coming January 5, she's adding another big one to the list: owner of a TV network! That's right, after years of planning, Chip and Joanna Gaines are launching Magnolia network (formerly DIY Network), where viewers can watch original shows, including new episodes of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, and more than 20 other programs.

This major milestone has Jo feeling seriously nostalgic. On a recent trip to New York City, she saw a billboard for the new network in Times Square and couldn't help but reminisce on her journey.

Owner? Doesn't Discovery own the network.
Good point it's like when Oprah's production company had a deal with Discovery Inc to air shows under the OWN Brand a decade ago. Discovery owns the channel but Oprah owns the shows that air on Own.

In other words Chip and Joanna Gaines owns the production company that produces and owns the shows for Magnolia network but Discovery has the streaming/broadcast rights from Magnolia.

It's a wonder they didn't rebrand Destination America instead? It is a dead channel with no first-run content wheras DIY has original shows and is more established.
