DJ Nightmares??????

Ok, time to ask,and time to see if it is a trend or just isolated. If you work on air, do you have those "DJ dreams"? more like nightmares...dreaming of work and mics not working, or having dead air? etc...?I have talked with a few folks in the business and they have had those. I find them kind of unnerving...Anyone care to share their "nightmares"? it is Halloween weekend after all.......Baaa Haaa Haaa Haaa Haaa

Seriously I'd have to say at least once a month I dream I'm on the air either at a station I've worked at or in some nondescript studio & the dreams always go the same way: everything I touch or say turns to crap. Everything that could go wrong does so. It's a good thing I never got into TV. I'd be dreaming I'm Rosie O'Donnell.

at least once a week..my song is ending...and my next CD will not play..I throw in another CD and that one won't work either..and i'm so flustered that I can't even get on the stupid mic to say anyting...DEAD SEGUES baby!

She was in your bedroom when you woke up???

I ran syndicated shows off of CD's on Sunday mornings at a country station for several years and had many nightmares of not finding the CD's or leaving dead air. Then one morning, the nightmare came true. The PD moved the envelopes containing all of the discs to a different room in the building without telling me. After unsuccessfully leaving several messages for him and waking up a few other people, I wound up just picking songs off of the computer to play, doing my best to follow the format clock. Finally, after 4 hours of a 5 hour shift, the PD finally calls back saying he had his cellphone off and told me where he put the CD's. Actually, the nightmare was fun as I enjoyed programming the station for four hours.

I keep having this bad dream that i am forced to listen to Erica K non-stop!!!!......HAHAHAHA....just kidding.....course i love ya

I don't need nightmares. I live one every time I have an airshift. I listened to an aircheck of myself from two weeks ago: I started the wrong song three times and had one song that didn't play for about 4 seconds.

Then I had a shift on Saturday and had two songs in a row start skipping on me.

That makes it more fun though :)

Ha, I can remember my first ever show on air...A CD skipped and I had no idea what to do so I started hitting random buttons. I cued up the computer and then another CD player at the same time..it was weird..I finally just stopped the computer from playing then picked a random CD to put in the player and played it...then it wasnt to shabby..sounded pretty good!

But, just the other day, one of our CD players wasnt working and I wanted to play some background music for when I talked..almost like a bed I guess you can call it..and the CD wouldnt play..so I started talking slow..I usually talk better and flow better with background music but this time without the music..I was a little off my game..but I guess its ok..no dead air there!

I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee............

You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive. Well you said that we made such a pretty pair, and that you would never leave.........

Well you're where you should be all the time, and when you're not you're with one of your ex-wives or the wife of your best friend, wife of your best friend............

At this point I would welcome that nightmare. Something...... ANYTHING .... to shake up Radio in this sleepy little town.

I've been out of the business for twelve years, and I still have those nightmares. Bizarre stuff like the board's down on the floor, I don't have headphones, I can't find anything to play...

Yup, mine is dead air. I've got nothing queued up when the last song or spot set ends. Usally it's a vinyl record that I'm searching for but sometimes it's a CD. No dreams yet about Audiovault, but I'm sure they're coming!

And then there's the one about realizing at the end of a semester that there was a class I never attended...

Or the forgotten high school locker combination...
