DJ No Name back on The End

Interesting. I thought Bob did OK on KIRO - he wasn't the most engaging of a host, but he had possibilities.

Why is KIRO having such a hard time filling the 9p-1a and overnight shifts? Is Frank Shiers and Bryan Styble the best you can come up with?

Is he headed back to mornings to replace Carolla? I thought Carolla was pulling in solid numbers and the new PD was a fan of his show.

Harms said No Name was going to the 10-3 shift and Jim Keller was going back to his old duties. I think the date was 9/6. Carolla is still on in the mornings.

Speaking of Keller, what is his title at the End? I thought I had read that he was the assistant program director and then I heard him mention a few weeks back that this was his 14th Endfest he has worked. I wonder how he must feel after playing second fiddle to Phil Manning all these years only to get dissed when the PD slot opens up.

He is APD over there (last time I checked).

Some people just aren't cut out to be PD. I don't know Keller or the situation so I don't know why he wasn't named, but maybe he didn't want tit, maybe Entercom felt he wasn't strong enough of a leader, or didn't like the dirrection he wanted to take the station. Personally, I think bringing in someone new to guide the Titanic around the iceberg was a smart decision. I don't know the circumstances, but it seems they wanted a different approach.

This is good news for The End. KISW's midday guy definitely dates himself during his breaks, so the younger rockheads will like No Name coming back. Middays in Seattle are boring, I heard some good 11am radio driving through California in July. It seems like most stations are happy to have a lame noon feature and let the rest be background music.

No Name sounded great today. It was great to hear your voice again, Bob. You certainly have had a rough nine months of it. Sounds like Jennifer is doing well in SD. You'll do yourself and The End proud again.

Did you hear KNDD's new promo -- something about how proud they are of their middle of the road ratings. I enjoyed it.
