DJ Paulie

There's this story about how "DJ Pauly D" from MTV's "Jersey Shore" is being sued by a Connecticut radio DJ named "DJ Paulie," who's been using that name for nearly 40 years on the air. He claims he was "very successful" until the other "DJ" came along and was "wiped off the Google map" at that point. So, he's suing MTV's parent company for $4 million.

Here's my question: What stations did the original "DJ Paulie" work for? Can't find a bio online - he's right, the other DJ Pauly is hurting him.

A has-been/never-was looking for a quick way to cash in on a "name"

Good luck, but I can't see him getting a dime. Maybe his grandkids will tell him to retire.

I guess the above two responses are proof that he's trying to capitalize on the popularity of a more popular DJ.

DJ Paulie is a legend for your young dj's out there. He started college radio at the age of thirteen, worked for special products for CBS, Disney Radio & Clear Channel in the markets of Boston, Hartford to name a few. He has been credited with over 100 Record Awards. His claim to fame is how he was one of the first pioneers for online radio. http://www.Youshook.com If you look at hits on the web DJ Paulie receives more hits on youshook than Pauly D's website according to the bible stats of Alexa.com. (Here in the US) We have researched and have discovered that DJ Pauly D has been REJECTED more than once to get his name trademarked by the Copyright Office because of DJ Paulie having the name first and being so popular on the Internet. This will be the trial of the decade and Pauly D should have stopped using the name when first notified when his tv show was first aired. This trial will cost millions of dollars on both sides for legal costs. Twenty years may separate the two of them but you will not remember Pauly D in 5 years but DJ Paulie will be a household name worldwide by then and not just here in the US.

Who's the lawyer? I've had my "Handle" since the late 70's and a google search shows a couple dozen others out there using my name with either the same spelling or darn close (ex: DMC world champ DJ Craze) and one with a web site with the name www.djkraze.com (hey "kraze"! you stole my name, can I steal your logo? Oh, nevermind, it looks stolen with the name photoshopped in as well) ;D

Seriously though, don't look to see me suing any of these guys anytime soon, I don't care about it too much as long as they don't try to sue me for using it as well, because I've had it since before most of them were born!
