DJs on WBOS?

Driving home around 7 tonight, I heard Jason Rossi, the promotions coordinator at WBOS, on-air announcing the artists coming up later in the hour. I'm not sure if he was live or voicetracked, but he identified himself by name and was clearly trying to sound like a DJ (in other words, this was different from in the past when voiceover talents produced IDs to backsell new music).

The station has clearly evolved over the last year. The music is now more like a rock version of an adult hits format than then classic alternative format of 2008-09, and the imaging has gotten a bit livelier. Are DJs the latest evolution of Radio 92.9?

I heard 'AAF doing the same thing the other night ... no live jock from 7pm-12am and they usually have voiceover talent front selling new music but I heard Mistress Carrie front selling a tune (tracked) and I think it was in the 9pm hour ... there is MORE than enough of her on 'AAF during the day. It's about time they put Hannah back in that slot (I'm not holding my breath though)

I would definitely describe their format as mainstream rock hits at this point...they are nowhere near alternative. Tom Cochrane, Def Leppard, Van Halen all in their playlist..

I would have to disagree. Life is in fact a highway and I do want to ride it all night long. That is as alt as it gets my friend.

How about an "honest" fart for Tom Cochrane?
