DJ's who used to work at Q96 WEQR Goldsboro

Does anyone have any updates on any former DJ's at Q96 WEQR? I used to listen to this station religiously, in fact I won a bunch of American Top 40 albums featuring Casey Kasem counting down the hits. The guys I remember working at Q96 were as follows:

Ross Russell
Allen Hoover
Greg Davis
Bill Lindquist (sp?)
Merv McIntire
Todd Davis
Jason James
Bob Dees
Jerry Riffle
Kathy Bateman

I'm sure I'm leaving out some, but those names are who I remember. That was a killer station, which is sorely missed. :(

I know that Vassie Baulcam who owned the station still lives in Goldsboro and has an office in the new building just as he did in the old one.I never worked with him but I know some who did all they agree he is a good man.Radio needs more gentlemen like Vassie. He has always been nice to me.He and I used to eat popcorn and watch The Young & The Restless when I did afternoons for WKIX
from 2002-2005.I have alot of respect for Vassie. He still does some liner work for 1150 WGBR.He still has the voice of God.....

I actually applied for a job at Q96 in late 1988, but they were not hiring at the time.

Then, the horror of all horrors occured in Feburary 1989 when Katie Country invaded the 96.9 format.
That was the ultimate blow.

I miss those Q96 days. It seems like they began going to live DJ's in the mid 80's after satellite/voicetracked DJ's. I still remember those guys too.

Mornings: Don McCallister
Middays: Cliff Saunders
Afternoons: Bill Keffury
Nights: Terry Nelson
Overnights: Rick Sherwood

Can you sort of tell I like nostalgia related things in radio? ;D

I applied for a job there once around 1988 or 89. I didn't know the format was about to flip to country. After not hearing anything for weeks, I get a call to interview at the WCPS/WKTC offices in Tarboro, which was weird because I had not applied there. During the interview it was revealed what was going on with the format at EQR.

Amazingly  , I was hired, and became a charter member of "The All New Katie Country, 96.9FM".

Still, I wish I could have had a little time on Q96. It was a terrific station.

I do have a Q96 window decal I have with one of the AT40s I won from them (actually it was 4 diferent AT40s) that I could scan and upload. I also may have som snipplets of Q96 on tape, but I will have to dig through a lot of cassettes to find them. Yes, it was a great station in the 80s.
