Didya hear? Google bought Dmarc Broadcasting...Who is Dmarc broadcasting you ask? They're now the parent company of Scott Studios the on air system that runs Entercom, Shamrock and Citadel stations in this market.
From USA Today:
Under the deal, announced Tuesday, Google would pay dMarc $102 million in cash. If performance targets are met, Google would make additional payments of up to $1.14 billion over three years.
Though it may not be connected, Google stock dropped $37 the day after this was announced, but bounced back to about $440 the next day.
Dmarc's idea is to create it's own network and sell spots, but they control everything. You schedule a spot to fill and they'll fill it and then give you a percentage. If done to the fullest, you will never be without commercials.
