Hi,
I hope that someone who is familiar with the new Internet Streaming rules can help me out with some info or point me to a source where I can get the info in plain English not legalese.
The new rules state that in any three hour period you can not....
Program more than three songs from the same recording (that means no more “album sides”)
· Program more than two songs in a row from the same album
· Program more than four songs from the same artist
· Program more than three songs in a row from the same artist or anthology/boxed set
· You may not publish (in print or on a website) or preannounce when a particular recording will be played.
Take a request and play it immediately.
I know several on air people of both the student and volunteer variety and the tell me that they are exempt from any of these new rules because they are a college station. They say they do not input any info about what they play and there are no restrictions on anything they play or in what order they play it.
My understanding is that there are no exceptions. There is one set of rules and they are for everyone.
Thanks for any info you can give me.
