Do both services offer exactly the same channels?

I see that certain channels are the same.
Pop 2K: XM 30, Serious 39.
Does Serious's mainstream 1 exist on XM someware?
What about XM's 165 expert talk on Serius?
I think there should be a channel guide for those of us who have both services.
I compared the sound of the channels that are the same and found Serius's sound is better.
I believe both XM and Serious use the same compression skeem, but Serious has a higher frequency responce.
It seems to me right now, there is a reason to keep both services.

John,

Are the Sirius and XM channels that are the same (“Pop2K,” “The Pulse,” ETC) simulcasting? Is there a delay of any kind from XM to Sirius? If so, by how many seconds.

My XM doesn’t work in this apartment, but my Sirius does. Being a curious radio geek, I have to know the answer. If you don’t feel comfortable replying on the board, you can PM me, or email me. Thanks.

On those channels that are on both services, yes they are simulcasts. The DJs (if any) ID the service now as SIRIUS/XM RADIO

The lineups aren't 100% identical. XM still offers The Groove and 20 on 20, which Sirius doesn't have, and Sirius has Sirius Hits 1, which XM doesn't air.

Sirius's station Shade 45 is not on channel 45 like Sirius has it. XM has this channel on 66 where their hip hop stations are located. Maybe when they made the changes Sirius should of changed channels around on XM's list to how some are on Sirius. This way they wouldn't have to say Highway on Sirius 60 and XM 16 all they could say Highway on Sirius and XM channel 60.

The web sites are indicating different weekend programming for Sirius' 80s on 8 vs. XM's 80's on 8.
For example, Sirus has Nina Blackwoods Big 40 Countdown, while XM's version of the channel has American Top 40 with Casey Kasem and Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40.

AT40 did make it over to Sirius for 70s on 7.

I'm hoping that Rick Dees will at least be heard on the Sirius side on 90s on 9 and Pop2K.

That is a curious thing for me. Why is it that XM's Pop2K is on 30, but its on Serius 39? Why is it that they weren't put on the same channel on both services? What reasoning is behind this I wonder.

Before I subscribe, I want to know if I'm going to have both Stern and Opie and Anthony. All sports talk took over what used to be a decent humor talk station where I live and I am PISSED!!

Because Sirius 39 is in the Dance neighborhood. There was enough confusion as it was without shuffling the channel numbers.

You will need to pay extra ($16.99/mo as opposed to the usual $12.99/mo) with either provider, as both shows are offered as a premium on the opposite service.

Some of the channels listed as being on both Sirius and XM are only available if you purchase the "best of" (XM on Sirius or Sirius on XM) package.
