DO NOT ADJUST YOUR RADIO! (about: STAR-94)

Hark! Did I actually hear, NE-YO's "Closer" played on Star-94?? After how many months?? This song has been out since Summer 2008, peaked at number 1 on most major charts and has been played on Q100 about 99.7-ZILLION-TRILLION TIMES! And I think Tripp West made it sound like a brand new song. (radio volume at work was low). Now, if that doesn't sound like a true HOT-AC.........

Hey, MAYBE Q100 should NOW start playing METRO STATION's "Shake It".......LOL!

Any thoughts?

Yeah, based on your multiple use of ?? and exaggeration in ALL CAPS!, I'd say you're probably a drama queen. ::)

....wow. Really hate you'll never get that 30 seconds back. And what if I am dramatic, anyway. If it's really such a huge deal not to use upper case, bold, underline, etc. on here. Then you'd think those fuctions would be better blocked...(somehow). Also, many people here are passionate about radio, as am I. Due to the.....(IMO), fun little "Top-40 war" going on in Atlanta, I was just having some fun with my words. Now can we stick to the topic, please.....thank you.

peace.

Does star 94 really play music? Uh, I Uh, didnt know that crap was music. Q 100 was a pretty good station when they signed on but now? Ok, Guess I dont know what music is supposed to be now, but sounds to me like a bunch of crap scrambled together with a couple of phrases repeated over and over.. Music? Naaaa, noise? YES.. for sure..

Once you start saying that current music is crap it officially means you are old.

I remember people saying this just before New Wave hit. Music was CRAP then too, and it has gotten back to that again today. NOTHING to get excited by! I'm waiting for something new...

OLD I MAY BE, but whats called music now scares me. No real tune just samples and beats and a voice thrown in thats made better with a computer.. It aint music... Its ... Well... It aint music

I think Q and Star play pretty good stuff. I also like 95.5 The Beat, Kicks 101.5, Project 96.1, and I used to listen to Gary when he was on 94Q.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sadly, I can remember when the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Dave Clark Five were the signs of the impending apocalypse!

Same with Village People ...

Same with Devo ...

Same with Eminem ...

Same with Barack Hussein Obama ... ad nauseum!

you know, I actualy think Star 94 plays more current music than Q100. Over all anyway...Q100 is great, I just wish they would lose the Matchbox 20 musical shrine they have going on. Seriously people! Does he pay them?

Q100 was mentioned in the recent payola scandal a few years ago...but I think nothing come out of it.

Cumulus is basically adopting Cox's methods. I suspect some of the people at Cumulus may have been at Cox (corporate HQ people) at one point. Q100 has become a researched station (a la B98.5 and the River).

At least Star 94 is still in Lincoln Financial's hands (for now)...but that apparently has no effect on a CHR that will be heavy on both rock and hip-hop.

Your best bet for a true CHR is to pray 94.9 goes that way in the next month or so (or for 95.5 to shift - ain't gonna happen)...but with two CHR's I doubt it.

But still I notice everyone out in Atlanta refusing to play Danity Kane.

This is not the first time Star*94 was late. I remember back in the 90's when I lived there, they added No Mercy late, some of Real McCoy was late, and Captain Hollywood Project was late. "Hey jealousy" by Gin Blossom's was about two years late before they finally picked it up!

Then it took even longer than that for Atlanta to actually get any stations that gave attention to dance music. Ne-yo's closer, rihanna's disturbia, and Estelle's american boy was late there as well on all stations, and many of Pitbull's songs weren't even recognized on all the stations I checked over the summer through October.
