Do Radio Stations Air different Programming from Intenet to Over the Air Programmin ?

Listneing to a radio station in Montreal from a online remote receiver it seems that the programming is different then the internet streaming ? Is this legal to fool the public ?

if they say station a is suppose to be WXXX but airs WYYY this is fooling the public when they id as WXXX. I was giving a example if one internet station is doing this in Montreal then you can be sure New York is doing the same thing. BTW the station is question is CJLV 1570 AM. CRTC and the FCC should know about this.

You should contact the station in question. I doubt anybody is trying to fool anybody. I know commercial breaks are sometimes not aired online and that can be the case for certain programming that is syndicated where the right to stream it is not allowed. There are other elements of programming the online listener might not care to hear but the over the air listener might (although that would be unusual). If you think there's some for of willful deception, you're way off.

Unless you have an example of an NY station, this post doesn't belong in the NYC board.

What stations do on the internet is not subject to government regulations.

in what way is it different?

just to clear up the matter...the format i'm hearing by remote location not internet is Oldies on 1570 but on the 1570 stream its not oldies. I guess they elected to stream a different format online. Sorry for posting on the wrong board.

Just a minor legal point. The FCC is branch of the US government. They have little to do with Canadian stations unless it is a technical issue dealing with interference to an US or Canadian facility near the border or "Clear" AM channels. It this really bothers you you need to contact the Canadian version of the FCC.
