Do You Know a Broadcaster Who Desperately Needs Help?

Vince Sweeney said:
Assuming that many of us are seeing the same ad banner on this page, the better question might be "Did You Ever Know a Broadcaster Who Didn't Need Help?"

(If you're not seeing that ad banner, here's the link http://www.broadcastersfoundation.org/.)

Vince:

I think we ALL could have used someones help at some point working in boadcasting. When I was just starting out, one broadcaster told me this was a dirty, back stabbing, ego driven business with 99.9% of owners not given a "hoot" for any of their employees. How many of us have worked for places without any benefits or if you get ill and have to call off sick...you loose that days pay. The longer a person works at a station does not seem to matter. How many on this board can name any people who at the time of being "let go" where given any notice? The famous saying is always "You've done your last show." I even knew of one jock who was sent a letter IN THE MAIL that he was fired!!!!!

now with sats, syndicated shows and milticast, the odds of keeping a job gets worse each day.

As Paul Harvey always said....And that's the rest of the story.
