The biggest thing that impresses me is how the station IDs are done locally from the transmitter site. How is this done and what is the name of the system that takes the cue from the originator to air the local legal ID?

It can be as simple as a switcher with a mini disc player hooked up to it that receives a relay from the satellite feed.

The Comstream receiver has multiple relay outputs for local breaks, liners, legal ids etc. The receiver sends a relay to the switcher to change input from the satellite audio to say a mini disc player and play track 1, you get your legal id then upon end of id it returns to the satellite audio..

I am not sure how EMF is doing it for Air1 and KLove.

Systems could be more indepth with full fledged automation pc's at the transmitter site that house backup audio, liners, commericals etc.

It's all up to how the network wants to do things.

On topic of Air1, I have been listening to their net stream lately (can't get 88.3 WOAR here where I live clear) and I notice their artist seperation is very tight. I heard a Jars of Clay song in the 8pm hour on Sunday and then another one towards the end of the 9pm hour. Same thing happened with two Switchfoot songs later on.

I listen here in New Jersey. We have several local CCM stations

I used to live on the East Coast. Just curious to find out where you live in NJ, and who else you listen to (Lift, Star, the Bridge, or Philly or Long Island stations?).

Hi WKVP 89.5 out of Cherry Hill New Jersey is a K Love station. It reaches, although just barely, into South Philadelphia as well. I travel for work so luckily I am usually within range, most of the time. I also listen to Hope 90.5 and WFIL 560 am although both of them are not in the K Love network. I live in South Jersey in the Cherry Hill area.
