I do think anthropologists, say 75-100 years from now, will find TV Guide as good a barometer as any newspaper of public attitudes and preferences. They will see how pervasive the influence of the "idiot box" was between the mid-1950s and the mid-2000s, when the internet and wireless technology began to supplant TV among younger generations.
