Dobbs is done - anyone know when?

TALKERS is reporting his last show is in February. Anyone got the exact date?

Thanks!

Lou will probably keep the Fox Business gig. After some of the things he said toward the end of his run on CNN, Fox Business is basically his dream job.

Answering my own question: 2/24

As an aside, Dobbs' "affiliate list" is the most embarrassing one I've ever come across, and I've seen some bad ones. Maybe 1 in 5 of the stations they list actually is a talk station and 1 in 10 might actually still carry Dobbs.

yeah it seems his syndicator did some funky stuff regarding his affiliate list. Also, the show was terrible. Half the time it seemed like he was reading directly out of the news paper. I think his biggest affiliate, WOR, was paid for.

Here is a link to an article from the Radio & Television Business Report about Lou Dobbs' future plans.

Well, that is a shame. It was hard for his show to be cleared because of the saturation of the market in that timeframe but he had a good show. I'm glad he's on Fox Business so we can still hear his wisdom.

KIVA in Albuquerque is listed as an affiliate, but they dropped the program a year and a half ago when Dobbs wouldn't let go of the "birther" issue.

It is interesting how inaccurate information is out there on affiliates and program schedules. The "affiliate finder" is used to keep people from counting how many stations people are actually on. Someone claimed that Fox business had about 10,000 liseners in the key demographic.

It's looking like a few dozen, max. Just talked to a station that hasn't had him on for 3-4 years. The list is littered with music stations and even some that are off-the-air.

I can confirm that AM 1580 in Washington, DC stil carries the show, albeit on tape delay... Of course, there are rumors that that station might soon switch to an all "Federal news" format at some point, so as to be marketed with new sister station, all-news 99.1 WNEW - kinda like the deal WTOP and WFED has in D.C.

Regardless, it's sad when you lose your political oriented radio talk show during an election year.
