Does almost every CT FM have to pipe in a network show at night?

If you scan the dial at night you'll find Delilah, John Tesh or some other network show. One reason is that corporate is too cheap to hire local talent to fill
that slot. And there is a significant decrease in listeners after 7p.
But enough is enough! Delilah is on a huge Hartford "Lite" station and also
WE ZEN and who knows what other stations.

Let's give local talent coming out of CSB, CCSU, Emerson College and other schools a chance to make it in local radio. The key word is LOCAL!

Maybe we will return to radio's hey day of personality radio!

In the days of big corporate owners you're never going to see local talent in the evenings or overnights if they can save money with automation or satellite programming. Look at the lobbyists going against the efforts to go back to localism and having stations manned 24/7. While I realize this will be a hardship for the small station operators the big corporate stations who can easiliy afford this will fight it to the end for the almighty dollar.

Ain't America great?

What's funny is, I've seen the same thing with LOCAL owners too...It's not just a big corporate thing running automation or "bird fed".

The thing that is most important for me is where are these kids who come out of schools CSB, Emerson, CCSU, etc going to break in? Mgt won't start them in morning or afternoon drive so what is left. They will be forced to travel to kalamazoo, Michigan to some small station and hope they can make enough money to eat without having to take another job at a 7-11.
Business doesn't have to be this way. It's called corporate GREED! ::)
