Does any one know if KXXS is really in HD?

If KXXS is in HD they must have it set at a real low power. I can get a full stereo signal and RDS on my home stereo. I thought BMP did not believe in HD?

I live down near Manchaca Rd & Slaughter Ln.
I pick up KXXS HD1 oldies and KXXS HD2 "Keilah Radio" Spanish Chistian music.
I have a Sony HD table radio with a standard dipole tacked to the wall behind it.

Wow, I have a Sangean HD1-X tuner The signal meter for analog from 1-18 it picks KXXS up about 14-16 I would of thought that would be plenty for HD? I can pull in most San antonio HD stations along with Austin.... Strange...

I don't think 98.9 or 104.9 have HD. And jras20, don't forget KXXS is a class A so 1% of 3,000 watts is 30 watts of Hybrid Digital power!

You'd think if they upgraded to HD they would of done the 10db power increase? Since it was approved by the FCC.

They may have engineered it before the change was approved. I really don't know what's involved in upping the sidebands. I know that-- as they are-- HD sidebands have already really screwed up the seek function on my car radio.

Not so much on my FM in my truck, but I think AM is a mess since I'm closer to WOAI I can hear the hash noises even in other parts of the dial it stops on.

So, by that rationale, does that mean 103.5 HD-2 is 960 watts of hybrid digital power? Would that carry to San Marcos? I've been considering an HD for my truck.

Someone would probably give you a better answer but I think you would have no problems at all pulling it in. If you have a good antenna system in your truck you may even be able to pull in KXXM's HD which their HD-2 is also a dance format.

I've heard 103.5 HD2 in Seguin no problem, but it's spotty south of there. 103.5 HD2 (Mega) is a ton better than KXXM's Pride channel. Sounds locally produced, as if someone is actually paying attention to it. KXXM's HD2 sounds canned, and is distorted like it's being played down a phone line.

Thanks for the info, Beaun. What about 101.5 HD-2, how far south does it carry?

I don't believe KROX is in HD yet. Because of K269FD 101.7FM in Gonzales, I bet that will knock down the HD Coverage a lot because of the sideband. You'd be lucky to get it if they ever turn it on.

No I don't the station is too weak for me to pick up, so I google True Oldies and stream from the True Oldies website (except when the Super Songs of 70s is on KKMJ) my radio is turned on to 95.5, as it is right now!
