Does anyone have the complete 2007 BIA Estimates

Guest
Clea Simon had most of the BIA Financial estimates of Boston radio revenue on Thursday. She did not report the numbers for WRKO, WTKK, WCRB, WBOS and all of the smaller stations.

Does anyone have all the numbers.

In case you missed the article. The market went form 324.8 mil in 06 to 210.2 mil in 07

BZ 34.5

EEI 31.0

XKS 23.9

JMN 19.5

BMX 17.9

ODS 17.0

ZLX 16.7

ROR 11.65

You are correct sir, 2007 was 310.2 not 210.2.

Further, I am not sure of BIA's methodology, but I know that some of those 2006 numbers were off and went uncorrected. I know that the majority of stations report to Miller-Kaplan, and looking at those numbers, it is probably fair to assume that the market was down at least 3%.

Sorry, my mistaken the 2006 number was 324.8 2007 was in fact 310.2 not 210.2.

the day when it will be down to 210 is not that far away. 1 in 4 listeners in boston is now over 55. population growth in this region is currently anemic at best. around 1%. do the math. advertisers like to eat them young. boston is becoming florida north.

WRKO and WBOS tied for 15th?

15th? 8 mill in Billing? no wonder WRKO is are so big on Spackle and Paste they need every dime.

So much for the myth BOS sells well even without ratings.

WBOS' power ratio is 1.1 though, meaning that they do bill better than they rate. A power ratio over over 1 is attractive.

Those numbers for WCRB are scary though. A power ratio of 0.32 is horrendous, in addition to billing under $5 million. There's no way that Nassau's $66 million (?) investment there is going to pay off like that... no wonder they were trying to sell it off earlier this year.

WBOS is a very profitable station and even more so since they have eliminated the air talent.

The Red Sox revenue is not included in the WEEI or WRKO numbers.

The WCRB numbers are incorrect. he staion did not bill over 7 million in 2006

Bob how about the WJIB numbers?

Bob how about the WJIB numbers?

WJIB probably sets two nationwide records for radio broadcasting:

#1 for the worst power ratio in the USA, and
#2 for the most listeners-per-watt (LPW) in the USA.

You are living my dream Bob, by running a staion that people love and appreciate and not having to worry about
traffic logs, and all the other headaches that come with selling spots.
