The heck with FlashBack Lunch. While they're still on, get your fix @ Jonesy's Jukebox on Indie! Cheers! ;)

Different animal, not even fair to compare the two.

I don't think Kevin Weatherly was ever "supportive" of the Flashback Lunch, they were looking to nuke it and tried in 2000, but a revolt led them to bring it back. However, Blade resigned a year later after that, and Kevin slowly degraded the block by putting 90s Rock in the mix so much so to the point where no one would really miss it, although Kat recently had tried to sneak more 80s back in, but I think the fact Kevin put Jack on 93.1 made the ultimate decision a reality, throw the big Flashbacks on Jack and we'll just direct people there. Just how I see it. ::)

WEll he didnt degrade the block you have to remember 90's songs are now 16 years old so they are pretty damned old for a current based station.. plus the 80's thing only has so much interest to it, I mean how many times can you hear "just cant get enough" and stilll tthink it sounds so great to hear it again?. Kevin is a smarter programmer than most so if he wanted it gone it's because their research said less and less people were all that into it, plus it was all Blade was doing so he really was at that point a one trick pony singularly associated with old music. So if they nuke Tammy Heidie for supposedly sounding too old for the station it wouldnt surprise me if Blade had to go too and Kevin did want to update and freshen the sound a bit.
