Does anyone know what this song is?

I'm trying to ID a song I heard many years ago on Beautiful Music WJOI-FM 97.1 and AC WNIC-FM 100.3 Detroit in the '80s. It's a female vocalist who sounds very soulful, sort of like Melissa Manchester in a way.

The chorus of the song is something like:

"Look at me, can't you see the love I hide
Can't you feel a spark inside burning?"

And the chorus ends with this lyric:

"If you ever doubt my love, read it in my eyes."

I think the DJ announced the artist's name as Jennifer something. Maybe Jennifer Holliday of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" fame? Typing those lyrics into a search engine turned up nothing. Can anyone help? I'm going nuts trying to ID this song.

Another song I've been wondering about for a long time: it's called "When A Woman Loves A Man," but it is not a reverse-gender version of Percy Sledge's "When A Man Loves A Woman." The chorus is something like, "When a woman loves a man, she'll do all that she can." Anyone know this one?

Chris,

The song is "Read it in My Eyes" by Jennifer Holiday.

Easily available on the CD "The Best Of Jennifer Holiday"

There's a song by a group called Westlife with that title, and those words in the song. Could that be it?
