Does anyone know why wlrs is lettiing jocks go right and left?

In the past 6 months annrae is gone then galvin now mo from the mo radio show.Now i am no fan of wlrs i love the alt format but they are a badly programmed radio station but they did have some good talent in those people.Good to listen to.They just took the only reason to listen away.Anyone know what going on?

Anyone can reply i appreciate it guys and gals.
 
I heard Moe was fired for advocating hate crimes against a transvestite or something. That's not good radio. Perhaps they should go back to FUNNY in the morning. Hire Curly!
 
Man I was wondering the same thing! What the heck is going on? Maybe the jocks feel they are the step children of Radio-One.
 
This is Galvin. I left on my own to go to a larger market. I am now doing mornings in Tampa on "The Cowhead Show". I had fun at WLRS with my show, but I am more of a sidekick/co-host, and I'm havin alot of fun here in Tampa. WHPT 102.5 The Bone - Tampa Bay's Classic Rock Station.

First off, Moe, was talking about a Transvestite in Shepherdsville working at a gas station, by the way he never said which one, using the term Shim! Apparently a guy dressing as a girl. Moe said he observed the Shim was calling other guy customers "honey, and "baby" and "sweetie"! Moe then said, seeing that there are a lot of backwards rednecks in Shepherdsville, the Shim may want to stop doing that because some redneck dude might not know how to take it. That's it!!!!!!!!!!! In a city of almost a million, 1 woman called and complained. 1, that's all. This went down on Thursday, in less then 24 hours, on Friday morning, Radio One opted to buy out his contract. Moe was not advocating hate crimes, he was making a funny observation! Moe was also up for a new contract, and a raise, WLRS, is making NO money, so they could not afford him, and this was a quick, easy way out. No, this is not Moe, just someone in the building, who, enjoyed his show, work ethic, and creativity.
 
I guess there's always two sides to every story. That certainly doesn't sound like a fire-able offense. I was told a different version of it.
 
Of course it's not a fireable offense!! That's why they bought out the contract, why would they do that if it was termination with cause? They are not even going to replace the shift. 3 jocks that's all. 6-12 12-6 6-12.
 
Apparently Moe mentioned where this person worked, the hours, a description, and the actual name and address of the place. What is the purpose of that? It ain't good radio. It really is inciting some sort of confrontation. Lame.
 
Why doesn's radio one see the writing on the wall and flip wlrs once and for all and let it die forever!!!It just makes no sense to keep a station that makes no money!!!I guarantee that this stuff will keep happening to wlrs this station will never find its way again until it flips no ifs ands or buts!!!
 
Wow, I don't know where you are hearing your info Chase, I would love to though. I am in the building, I know the real story. Moe said the Transvestite, or Shim worked at a gas station in Shepherdsville, and had talked about the Transvestite many time before on his show. Never did he mention what gas station, or the address, or anything of the sort. He could have been making it up for all we know. The reason for the termination, is 1 person called and complained. The woman left a message on Dale's voice mail. And again, if they felt that they had just cause, why would they continue to pay him. Chase first you said you heard Moe condoned hate crimes on his show that's why he was fired, now you say he gave out personal info. I can assure you, I am telling you the real reason.
 
Youknowme, how long will you all continue to simulcast WLRS. You guys are wasting 104-3 man!
 
Hey, we are all wondering that, but according to research, there is not a format this city needs! 104.3 could maybe go urban talk, but that is it. We all know that the stations, DJX, LRS are on the block! I did hear that someone was looking at them. It's funny, I hear people say flip it all time!! To what?
 
Flip wlrs i say. If they keep rock whoever buys them i take it that is why radio one does not touch 105.1 or 104.3 because they are up for sale but drop the lrs calls and go more of an alt format or a mainstream rock station.Go gospel on 104.3.such a waste of a frequency with a city the size of louisille to simulcast lrs.Louisville radio needs a good shake up!!! How about liberal talk on 105.1 or 104.3?Ya never know.
 
Man, If you got rid of 104.3, i would have nothing to listen to. I live about 30 miles north of Louisville, and all i get is 104.3. 105.1 BARELY comes in. I used to get the Fox, but now they changed frequencies and i don't get it anymore. If 104.3 was gone, all i'd have would be a classic rock station.

Also, in my opinion, Moe was one of the greatest DJs on radio, he spoke his mind and he made sense. I never found anything he said offensive. He's come close to crossing the line, but never really crossed it. I hope he joins up on a satellite radio station so he can't be censored. Just my 2 cents.

LRS is heritage and should stick around...ESPECIALLY now that JD and Alan are out of the picture with the sale. Yes, LRS has made some bad moves in the past but hows this for a "Perfect Storm" situation: 1.) Annrae is gone, 2.) LRS is sold to a new company looking to make a name for itself, 3.) the morning show slot is open..... Can anyone say "Mudd's Morning Wood Show"? Just a thought 8)
