Does anyone own the Sangean HDT-1X?

I'm just wondering who in here owns the Sangean HDT-1X? I'm thinking of getting it because it can force analog. I was wondering once you turn off the HD will the HD stay off? Can you turn it off on presets? I want a tuner with RDS on it. That one is the only one I know of that can turn off the HD signal that also has a signal meter and RDS.

I have it. There is an analog mode setting. Once it's on, it forces analog system-wide.

Nice unit.

Sounds good I'll may decide on getting it. I have the HD-1 I hate the fact of I can pick up San antonio FM stereo, and the HD comes in and out all the time.

It has a neat little feature where it will also allow you to output HD on one channel of the output and the analog signal on the other, so you can directly compare the audio.

I thought that they had a half-way decent AM section on the HDT-1X tuner, including being able to decode C-Quam analog AM stereo? Or is the bandwidth just crappy?

I probably should have add more info about the tuner's AM section. It sounds fine with stronger AM signals but with weak signals the audio sounds a bit choppy, fading and a little distorted. I just prefer the Sony XDR-F1HD's AM section as it sounds cleaner and more clear even though I don't think decodes Cquam AM stereo.

If it works about the same as my HD-1X does than I'll be happy with it. I didn't like how I couldn't turn off the HD signal if a station was cutting in and out. I did a one day shipping I got it today at work. I'll try it out tonight. Thanks again for the info.

I hooked up the tuner this afternoon, so far I like it! The only thing I don't really care for is when the display goes dark when I have it turned off. Is there a way to change that? I liked the clock on my HDT-1 because it didn't dim.

I have an XDR-F1HD also and think the AM section is just as krappy sounding as most other tuners made within the past 30-40 years, it's not any more senitive either, my Meduci sounds 10X better.

I have recently bought the Meduci tuner and yes, it does sounds much better than anything with the AM section.

I'm impressed with this tuner. I really like it the fact you can force analog off. I wish all HD Radios was like that. They would be pretty good radios then!

Ahh, love the iBiquity always-up-to-date website. The Boston Receptor HD was discontinued over a year ago and the RS Accurian is special-order only (no longer in stores.)
