Does anyone remember Nightflight '77?

Anybody here remember a show from 1977 that
ran late Saturday night (actually, 1 AM
Sunday morning) on KXAS, KPRC, KENS, and KTBC
called Nightflight '77? It featured reruns
of Wild Wild West and The Millionaire, as well
as movies and in-studio segments. IIRC, the show
originated in Austin and the host was named Casey
Martin. I'd be interested in hearing anyone's
recollections of this show.

Yes I do but it was on WFAA not KXAS! I enjoyed it when they showed the Wild Wild West reruns. Ed Busch a former talk host on WFAA AM was a guest several times with his "Dating Match", matching men and women across the state. The movies was dull but some of the classic tv shows (pre Tv Land ) were great.

Have to disagree about the channel in Dallas/Ft. Worth because
I lived there in 1977. I'm thinking there was a show called
Nightflight in later years that aired on Channel 8, but I'm
positive that Channel 5 had it in '77.

Nope. Chanle 8 used to have their "all night movies" before Nightflight came along. I lived in DFW since 1974. You are right, WFAA did secure syndication rights in the mid 80's for another "Nightflight" that originally started on the USA Network, However the Texas Nightflight in 1977 was on WFAA,and had some WFAA talent help out on it.

I thought the syndicated version started in the early-1990s, after it was cancelled on USA?

It was the late 80's.ED'S OFF A FEW YEARS BUT WHO'S COUNTING:)? I recall it running for 2 years ,then WfAA bought the syndication rights(a few years later) for Mystery Science Theatre 3000.A great show BUT Ch.8 showed it at 2:30am and only for an hour. That sucked.

I think the syndicated version was only an hour long -- and featured "studio" introductions and closings (might have been in the original as well, as I never seen the original).

The original one first on "Scifi" then Comedy Central was two hours long so they could show the lousy movies in their entirety, plus their bits.
