Does anyone remember this station/circa early 90s?

My wife asked me to post this.

She said in the early 90s their was a rap oriented station that appeared briefly around the low 90s on the dial. She seems to remember it was pulled quickly because of language, etc.

Does anyone remember the name of the station? Through the years she's mentioned this many times and always wondered what the call letters/station name was during it's brief run. Perhaps the station was around a while and maybe some particular DJs were shown the door? I'm not sure. I do appreciate the help.

Z 93 "92.9" was sort of urban at one time. IIRC Ross and Wilson got into trouble at Z 93, but that was in the late 1970's when Z 93 was not urban. I am sure it was not 94Q "94.1". It might have been a non-comm at 90 or 91 for the low 90's part of the Atlanta's dial.

The whole Ross (Brittain) & Wilson "dedicated Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust' to ATL's missing & murdered children* and got fired in 1980" thing is strictly an urban legend. Didn't happen. See http://www.boortz.com/weblogs/nealz-nuze/2007/apr/26/2007-04-26/

Are you thinking of one of ATL's short-lived urban stations like WBUS or WEKS? Maybe a short-time resident of 96.7 or 97.5?

That was not I thought they got into trouble for. It was a remark about Gary over on 94Q.

Although Ross & Wilson were replaced by some unknown named Steve McCoy.
