Q108's (Ft Campbell) fake flip in May 2002? It was on Memorial Day. The station went jockless for a week, and dish out promos such as, "Q108 is gone." After that, the station would play snip-its of Rock Alternative songs such as Papa Roach's Last Resort, Pearl Jam's Evenflow, and so the listener thought, "hey, Ft Campbell/Hopkinsville is getting a rock alternative station." There was even a promo that said, "tune in Monday at 8am to witness the switch."
So, Monday morning at 8am, there was a six-and-a-half minute countdown by a woman with a British accent, and when the countdown was over, you heard "Q108 is gone...Gone crazy about the $100,000 giveaway!" Q108 remained an A/C station, after giving teasers that they were flipping to Rock Alternative. That totally sucked.
